Never appear too needy. If you were the one that caused the breakup then you need to apologize for your actions. You want your ex to know that you are very sincere and regret any wrong that you may have done in the past. However don't over do it. Just be short and to the point as possible and don't beg or plead for him or her to take you back. If you seem too needy it will be seen as a sign of weakness that will only shun your ex further away.

Be yourself. If you want to impress your ex to win him or her back, make sure you do something that you can live up to and wont have a problem doing in the future. This means that you have to be genuine otherwise whatever you do can backfire and hurt you future with your ex.

Act like you did when you just started dating. Often times when persons are in a relationship, they tend to take things for granted. Reflect back on your relationship, did you spend enough time with your ex? Did you give a listening ear to his or her concerns or ideas? Were you always there when they needed you most?

If you can find answer to these questions and correct where you went wrong then your ex will see the changes you have made and will be willing to get back with you.
